Prayer for Easter

Prayer that expresses the joy of Easter, on Easter night: It is a deep joy for us, Lord of the universe, to give you thanks on this Easter night, illuminated by the radiant face of the Resurrected. Like a long-awaited dawn, you come to dispel our darkness. You make an invincible hope shine where death seemed to triumph. By the light that your Word sheds, you illuminate our tortuous paths. By the water of baptism and the gift of the Spirit, you free us from our idols. Through Eucharistic sharing, you make the new man grow in us. What bursts in the sky the joy of the angels! Let it burst upon the earth the joy of the sons of God! Amen
