A prayer for the soldiers who died for France On the occasion of the commemorations of November 11

Lord, God of goodness and mercy, who sent us your Son Jesus Christ to bring us the salvation of life, have mercy on all our brothers, whom you called to you in the tragic circumstances of war! We pray for those who have known, loved and served you: give them what, in all the strength of their Christian hope, they so desired during their stay here below. We pray for those who did not know you, but who searched for you all their lives in the anxiety and anguish of their souls, and found you only in death. Finally, we pray to you for those who have neither known you nor even sought you out, and whom, however, you have never ceased to love. They have nevertheless served you by loyally and courageously doing their duty until the ultimate sacrifice. Have mercy, Lord, on each other! They are all your children. Give them all eternal life in light and peace. Amen
